About the role

As a Business Development Representative, you will work closely with the Head of Business Development and the commercial team to support all stages of the buying cycle, helping you develop a deep understanding of our products, services, and go-to-market strategy. Your responsibilities will include managing the sales inbox, being the first point of contact for new prospects, and attending site visits, industry events, and partner locations to gain firsthand experience and build relationships with key stakeholders.

In addition to expanding your network and industry knowledge, you will focus on customer and prospect relationship management, including drafting proposals and presentations, and ensuring accurate pipeline, CRM, and internal system updates.

This role offers exposure to formal tender processes and customer onboarding, providing valuable insights into how we acquire and implement new business, where you will also have an opportunity to contribute to the expansion revenue and volume growth in new business, assist in onboarding new clients, and support the expansion of services with current customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Support Business Growth: Assist the Head of Business Development and the commercial team throughout the sales cycle to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities.
Lead Management and Initial Contact: Manage the sales inbox, act as the first point of contact for new prospects, and nurture relationships with potential clients.
Customer Relationship Management: Maintain accurate CRM data, draft proposals and presentations, and oversee the administration of customer and prospect relations.
Industry Engagement: Attend site visits, industry events, and partner meetings to build relationships with key stakeholders and expand industry knowledge.
Support New Business and Client Onboarding: Assist in acquiring new business, contribute to formal tender processes, and support onboarding and expanding services with current clients.
Pipeline and Data Accuracy: Ensure that internal systems, pipelines, and CRM tools are consistently updated and accurate.

Skills and experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication for engaging with prospects, drafting proposals, and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems to manage leads, track customer interactions, and maintain accurate data.
  • Ability to handle initial prospect interactions, manage the sales cycle, and contribute to closing deals or expanding services.
  • Efficient in managing tasks, keeping track of sales pipelines, meeting deadlines, and ensuring system data is consistently updated.
  • Comfortable creating and delivering presentations to prospects and clients, supporting proposals, and attending industry events.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with industry contacts, stakeholders, and potential clients through site visits and events.
  • Willingness to learn about formal tender processes, new business acquisitions, and customer onboarding while adjusting to various aspects of the role.
  • Ability to work closely with the commercial team and other departments to support business development objectives.
