About the role

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Finance Data Analyst to join our finance team. The Data Analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven insights to support the company’s financial decision-making process. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial data, and proficiency in BI tools and software.

Key responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collect, analyse, and interpret financial data to support business decisions.
    • Create customer focused reporting that analyses key data sets such as revenue, operational performance, trade and market.
    • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
    • Provide key data insights to customer and key stakeholder to help improve profitability and business performance.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights.
    • Create financial models to predict future trends and identify potential risks and opportunities.
    • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Business Intelligence Tools:
    • Utilise BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL) to extract, manipulate, and visualize data.
    • Maintain and improve the company’s BI infrastructure to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
    • Train and support team members in using BI tools and interpreting data.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
    • Support the financial planning process by providing data-driven insights.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
    • Collaborate with finance and business teams to develop performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Strategic Support:
    • Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives and business cases.
    • Identify trends and patterns in financial data to support strategic decision-making.
    • Develop and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial reporting and analysis processes.
    • Develop and implement best practices for data management and analysis.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in BI tools and techniques.

Skills and experience

  • Experience in financial analysis, business intelligence, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and SQL.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial modelling.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
