About the role
We are seeking a skilled and analytical Finance Data Analyst to join our finance team. The Data Analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven insights to support the company’s financial decision-making process. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial data, and proficiency in BI tools and software.
Key responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyse, and interpret financial data to support business decisions.
- Create customer focused reporting that analyses key data sets such as revenue, operational performance, trade and market.
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Provide key data insights to customer and key stakeholder to help improve profitability and business performance.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights.
- Create financial models to predict future trends and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Business Intelligence Tools:
- Utilise BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL) to extract, manipulate, and visualize data.
- Maintain and improve the company’s BI infrastructure to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
- Train and support team members in using BI tools and interpreting data.
- Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
- Support the financial planning process by providing data-driven insights.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Collaborate with finance and business teams to develop performance metrics and KPIs.
- Strategic Support:
- Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives and business cases.
- Identify trends and patterns in financial data to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial reporting and analysis processes.
- Develop and implement best practices for data management and analysis.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in BI tools and techniques.
Skills and experience
- Experience in financial analysis, business intelligence, or a related role.
- Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial modelling.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
